Our Origin:
Pulama Scrubs was created as the result of a nurse's frustrated comment: "Why can't anyone make good quality scrubs that are nice to look at? I'm tired of the prints and quality that are offered in scrubs catalogs." Hearing this candid testimonial, Barb Miller, our President recalled her decision years earlier to make scrubs for herself.
She too had been disappointed with the mass-produced scrubs the major manufacturers offered with their painfully busy prints on tissue-thin polyester. Back then, she had assumed that it was just a case of her own unreasonably high standards of quality getting the best of her. But hearing a young nurse voice the same complaint made her realize that she was not alone. Other people notice and yearn for better quality.
At that moment, more than 10 years ago, Barb committed to make a difference. She believes health care professionals are some of the hardest working and, in many cases, least appreciated individuals on the planet.
At the very least they deserve to be comfortable while they do their jobs and there is no reason they shouldn't look good too.
Barb hasn't looked back and her commitment to quality shows in every item we sell.

All Pulama Scrubs are manufactured in the US by skilled seamstresses. As a seamstress and former healthcare professional herself, our founder understands the importance of sturdy construction and quality material. We use only the finest quality fabrics to produce our garments. All stress points are reinforced. The V-neck scrubs are interfaced at the neckline to remain crisp through many launderings She personally selects all materials and is involved the hiring of every associate.

I grew up in Hawaii. In the relaxed atmosphere of swaying palm trees, exquisite fragrant flowers and friends of every nationality, it was easy to understand how all people are connected, and everyone is to be respected and honored as family or "Ohana".
At Pulama Scrubs, we care about each other and our worldwide customers like Ohana. This wonderful philosophy is reflected in our fabric choices and our excellent workmanship. We enjoy what we do, and are fulfilled. Every year, a portion of our annual sales is donated for cancer care and research. The people of the islands do not take more than they need, and are always willing to share what they have.
When you wear one of our tropical scrubs, you can be transported to a beautiful, peaceful place where the ocean meets the shore and soft, fragrant breezes caress you while you work. Slick, eh?
Our traditional prints are also a delight to wear, but you have to create your own scenario.... be sure to include the smiles and compliments you will receive from patients and co-workers!
